Send large files instantly (free & private)
Direct browser-to-browser transfer (P2P/WebRTC). No cloud storage. No signup. No practical limits.
What is Free Transfer?
Free Transfer helps you send large files by creating a direct P2P connection between two browsers. That means you don’t need to upload your file to a traditional cloud storage provider first.
How it works
- Select your file (or multiple files).
- Generate a temporary link to share.
- The receiver opens the link and the transfer happens directly between browsers.
Tip: for very large transfers, use stable Wi‑Fi or wired connection and prevent your device from sleeping.
No storage
Your files are not stored on servers. The connection is P2P.
Secure by design
WebRTC provides encrypted transport (DTLS/SRTP).
No practical limits
We don’t enforce a hard size cap. Real limits depend on your connection and keeping the session open.
Frequently asked questions
How can I send large files for free?
Open Free Transfer, select your file, generate a link, and share it. The receiver opens the link to start a direct P2P transfer.
Is there a file size limit?
No fixed limit is imposed by Free Transfer. Real-world limits depend on upload/download speeds and session stability.
Can I send 100GB or 200GB files?
Free Transfer doesn’t enforce a hard cap. Large transfers depend on both users’ connection speeds and keeping the session open until completion.
Do I need to sign up?
No. No account is required.
Is it secure?
Yes. WebRTC uses encrypted transport (DTLS/SRTP), and files are transferred directly between sender and receiver.
Are my files stored on a server?
No. Files are not uploaded or stored. The server only helps establish the connection to begin the P2P transfer.
